Najaf, Feb.8 (AKnews )- The Theater Director Qaed Jijan believes that theater is an urgent nececssity nowadays, because it is a window trusted by the spectator, delivering a message of peaceful coexistence and love among the people of one country..."Theater and plastic art have a common language that does not need translation," he said.

shano "What I mean by translation is that the recipient in both cases will be fully equipped to interact with the idea, through his reaction to a painting or theatrical scene... We need to promote theater and enrich it with texts that drive the receiver to simulate the interpretation of phenomena surrounding him, whether political, religious or social ", Jijan told the Independent National News Agency of Kurdistan (AKnews) on Monday.

"Theater today works through some individual experiences, at least in Najaf, where the artists union has no influence in theater, and there is a lack in technical equipment such as the lighting and the set", according to Jijan. He believes that the play "Illi Yrid el Helou", (Who wants beauty), had a great success in Baghdad thanks to the great production and the modern way of work.

Jijan outlined that the ceremony of Ashura this year was wide and the spectator had a good interaction with the scenes performed in many places about the incident of Karbala.

"This can be called  "street theater",  through the involvement of many volunteers with different cultural backgrounds to work and participate in drama works that oblige the actors to memorize their roles and perform in classical Arabic, "Fus'ha". It would give the impression that there the spectator is willing to interact with this way of expression in order to deal with his/her issues, whether the religious rituals in which he/she believes, or through the social reform and the recreation of coexistence.
