Kurdistan seeks to improve situation of Kurdish youth

ERBIL, June 25 (AKnews) - The Ministry of Culture in the Kurdistan Region is preparing, in coordination with civic organizations, to develop a national strategic plan to serve young Kurds, while the minister of culture pointed out that developing the plan will improve the situation of young Kurds in the region.

A conference specialized to put in place the national strategic plan for youth in the region was held in Erbil city in the presence of Minister of Culture Kawa Mahmoud and representatives of civic organizations.

Mahmoud said in a statement: "We, in coordination with concerned organizations about the youth affairs and civil society, are seeking to draft a national strategic plan for the youth of the region.

“We aim through a studied plan to achieve civil and human development for the Kurdish youth and we are trying to get benefit from the policy of anti-violence against women, and the policy of ethnic cleansing and protection of human rights.

"We will work on several issues, including the involvement of young people in political affairs, leadership development, civic education, citizenship, health, environment, culture, media, education, and other issues."
