Seven teenagers killed and three more injured in Duz Khurmatu attack

ERBIL, August 11 (AKnews) – Seven teenagers were killed and three more injured when two unknown gunmen opened fire on a group of youths and children in Duz Khurmato town.
Mayor of the town Shalal Abdul said: "Two unknown armed men driving a motorcycle opened fire on a group of youths and children who were swimming near Sleman Bag village.
"The men first asked some questions, such as where they from and then distinguished [which] teenagers and children are from Amrlin village and [which] are Shiite.
"Later the men handcuffed the children and killed them in front of their mates."
The incident took place in the end of Duz Khurmatu water project near Sleman Bag village.
The men plant bombs in the surrounding area meaning police could not capture the gunmen when they arrived at the scene, added the mayor.
