Erbil, Mar. 13 (AKnews) – The Special Representative of the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) of Iraq announced on Saturday that 1800 complaints were recorded in the central commission headquarter in Iraq.

"The Political parties together with the voters are continually filing complaints. 1800 were registered against the electoral process since the start of the elections", Sardar Abdul Karim said.

"The majority of complains are submitted by voters themselves and the rest few ones by political entities in Iraq," he noted.

IHEC Spokesman Qasim Abbudi said about the measures to be taken: "we are seriously taking into account the complaints at the central election commission headquarter, before releasing the final results of the parliamentary elections in Iraq."

6172 candidates, among them 1803 women, have competed over 325 seats of the Iraqi parliament, 82 of which are allocated for women.

The voting process ended on Sunday in Iraq with the participation of 19 million voters in 18 Iraqi provinces, a million and 90000 voters in 16 countries.
