BAGHDAD, June 12 (AKnews) - Two media and legal committees have been launched in preparation for questioning Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki in the Council of Representatives, said Iraqiya List.
The party added that the interrogation will be done soon after making sure that the president will not send a request to withdraw confidence from the government.
Leader in the list Talal al-Zobaie said "The meeting parties in Erbil agreed to form a joint media committee from the three blocs that demand withdrawing confidence from the government.
“They also agreed on the formation of a legal committee that will prepare the files that condemn Maliki that include significant violations for the constitution and for the rights of the Iraqi people and the interrogation will be supported by 170 MPs."
The meeting parties in Erbil agreed that they will interrogate Maliki in case the withdrawal of confidence is not achieved.
Iraqi President Jalal Talabani said in an earlier statement that he had received 160 signatures and this number was not sufficient to withdraw confidence from Maliki's government.
But the Kurdistan Region's President Massoud Barzani said on Monday in a comment on his Facebook page that he has 170 signatures.
