Baghdad, Feb. 7 (AKnews) The top scorer of Iraqi League in 1998, Ali Hussein Fat'hi, that after touring in the football stadiums in the nineties of the last century, persists today and tour in the streets of Sadr City, wearing the municipal suit, carrying his broom which he "considers his pride."
"All football fans know me and remember me well when I was in the playgrounds of Sadr City, and they called me Maradona at that time," and he expressed his regret that "The government doesn't pay attention to the symbols of community wether it were technical ,cultural or sporting activities," Fat'hi told The Independent National News Agency of Kurdistan (AKnews) in a special interview.
Ali Hassan Fat'hi expressed his grief in the following interview:
AKnews: The beginning was with the workers club, how do you see the end of Ali Hussein Fat'hi?
Ali Hassan Fathi: As you see me, here I am working in the municipality where I translate my skills and career in the field of garbage from the streets, and I ask: "Where is the plain and glittery truth for today, and how will the government respond to this question?"
AKnews: You were the first who played on the green square with the youth of Trade Club and most of the players came from popular areas, where did you play before representing your club?
A.F: I consider Sadr city the mine of innovators in the field of football and I played in the 72 sector in 1985, and then the captain Mohammed Jaber Fakkan discovered me and I played with Brazil Revolution, thus in the second stage I achieved the dream of every young and after I got the confidence of Captain Hussein Fonjan, where I showed my abilities and reached the League and played with the Trade youth team. and this was one of the signs of success that I had achieved and I am proud of, then Captain Nasrat Nasser asked me to represent the Labors (Ommal) club in 1996 in the first league and I played five seasons with the club.
AKnews: You played with the Army club when you were escaping from the military service, how did that happen?
A.F: I played with the Army club in a deal with the coach Shakir Hakim, and it was a recommendation for my escape and to play in the club in turn and the deal was done, in order to invest my talents and my abilities to support the club and this deal made me miss two important contracts with the Police and Zowara'a Clubs.
AKnews:Was your experience with the Army Club followed by any other?
A.F: Yes, I played with Zakho team with my colleague Salem Shnieshil in 1999 - 2000 and we helped the club to reach the first class at that time.
AKnews: Why did you stop playing with Zakho club?
A.F: I stopped playing with the club because I was detained by the former regime's security, because my father and my uncle were excuted because they belonged to Daawa Party in the middle of the last century, and we tried to hide this thing from everyone because of its consequences. But the security of the dictatorial regime considered that I was hiding the information from the authorities and the detention continued for more than a year and I was released after the intervention of some officials who are interested in sports because they knew that I had nothing to do with any political issue.
AKnews: Some persons who were with you said that you have a lot of achievements. Can you tell us about some of them?
A.F: The most outstanding achievement is getting the title of top scorer in season 1998, despite of the presence of more than a star and top scorer in the league at that time.
Fathi asked is it possible that my tender-rich sports effort that I had given to the Iraqi football to end in this bleak picture.
