Higher Education allocates 12 billion dinars to reconstruct the Talaba Sports club

Baghdad, Feb. 8 (AKnews) The media spokesman for the Talaba (Students) Sports Club said on Monday that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Researches has allocated 12 billion Iraqi dinars for the reconstruction and rebuilding of students sports club in Baghdad.
"The Administrative Board of Talaba Club is seeking to complete the administrative processs and legal aspects of the rebuilding of the club with the cooperation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Researches",Kahtan Al Maliki told The Independent National News Agency of Kurdistan (AKnews), noting that "The proceedings were stopped because of the ownership of the club property, where the ownership was transfered from the Ministry of Finance to the Ministry of Higher Education."
Al Maliki said that "It is scheduled that a private investor will take the responsibility to rebuild all the sports facilities of the club: football fields ,indoor halls and other facilities in addition to building a supermarket and a hotel for the sports delegations."
He said that "About $ 12 billion dinarswere allocated since two years, but the administration was still waiting for the transfer of the ownership of the land to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Researches."
Talaba sports Club is one of the 17 clubs which were embedded to the governmental institutions to provide financial and administrative support to them because they represent them in the sports competitions.
The Student Club was founded in 1969 and was named Jamiaa (University) before turning into Talaba in 1977.
