Iraqi team preparing for Asia Olympics qualifiers

ERBIL, June 19 (AKnews) – The Iraqi Olympic team is on a training camp in Oman to prepare for the Asian Olympics Games qualifiers that is expected to kick off on Saturday.
The 10 day Olympics will be held this in Oman. Iraq will be playing against each of the UAE, Oman, Lebanon, Turkmenistan and India football teams.
“I see the competitions in the qualifiers will be very strong, but I have confidence and am satisfied with my team” said Nawzad Qadir, a member of the Iraqi Football Association (IFA) and head of the Iraqi football delegation in Oman.
Hakeem Shakir, manager of Iraq’s Olympics team is relying on his team’s youth, physical strength and skills to qualify for the Asian Olympics.
“The line-up of our team is constituted by very young players who are physically strong and tactically skilled. We will try to be the best team” he said.
