BAGHDAD, July 12 (AKnews)- West Asian judo championships for junior level will be held in Suli, Kurdistan Region, an official said.
At the sidelines of judo championships for advanced level in Jordan, the members of the West Asian Judo Federation (WAJF) met and decided to organize junior level tournaments in Iraq, said Samir al-Mousawi, head of WAJF and Iraqi Judo Federation.
Mousawi added more than 10 countries have voiced readiness to participate in Iraq's championships which is due in mid September in Suli.
According to the official, most of the participants have also expressed their desire to organize training courses in Iraq in preparation for the Suli event.
In Jordan championships for advanced level Kuwait ranked first in the tournaments and Iraq the third after the host country.
