BAGHDAD, July 18 (AKnews) - The Iraqi Football Association (IFA) announced Tuesday about suspending its participation in Arab football championships because of what it called the great “injustice” that Iraqi teams suffer from in such participation, as happened in yesterday's match between Iraq and Tunisia.

Association member Kamel al-Zughayyar said: "The referees in such competitions tend to support the teams that face Iraq in any Arab championship for reasons that we do not know.

"The wrong decisions of the referee of the match held between Tunisia and Iraq on Monday was the main reason for the loss of Iraq's juniors national team in front of its Tunisian counterpart 3-0."

Zughayyar praised the promising generation of players who will improve the level of the national team, adding that the association is keen to take care of them as they deserve respect and appreciation for the good level they showed during the recent Arab competition.

The Tunisian juniors team won the second Arab Cup championship. Iraq came second and the Moroccan national team came third.
